Our horse supplies and other western store offerings are bred from true ranching experiences. There is nothing we like more than to be with our horse- riding, working the ranch, or taking care of the homestead.
In fact, the Broken Spur came of necessity. It’s one of those stories legends are made of, born from a western legacy goin’ back six generations. Life taught us early on that it isn’t always fair. Being prepared for whatever comes a cowboy’s way is an important lesson.
Having the best horse supplies close by came to be important seeing that we lived more than sixty miles from the nearest town. The Owl Creek Mountain area of Wyoming is true western ranch country. More livestock than people by far. Not having good horse tack on hand was just foolish.
We raised a lot of other farm animals because it was smart to have food available. That’s how we learned about feed. Some was good. Some was bad. We got rid of the stuff that didn’t keep our animals healthy.
Jeans and other western wear just fit naturally for the types of chores that occurred daily on the ranch. Of course we have our favorites. And we even kept some fancy western duds in the closet for the special festivities that came up throughout the year.
All in all, what you’ll find here at Broken Spur is quite an assortment of all things western. Horse supplies, tack, feed, western wear, supplies and trailers just to name a few. Quality is the number one reason we stock what we do, but learning to live with scarce resources also taught us about value.
